Construction Projects, Manchester, North West

During a busy year in 2008, JMP has secured in excess of £20M of claims income for our Clients on a number of complicated disputes. A selection of the type of work undertaken has been outlined below, which reflects current problems being encountered within the Construction Industry:

Project 1

Working for a national top 5 Contractor, JMP were commissioned to prepare a detailed final account for a recently completed construction project. Upon completion of the account and submission, JMP successfully negotiated a final account value in excess of £26M with the Employer, which included £10.5M of claims and additional work items.

Project 2

JMP were engaged by a civil engineering sub-contractor to review and provide advice on an ongoing dispute and a main contractors failure to make further payment. Upon completion of a commercial review, JMP commenced an Adjudication which lead to a successful negotiated final account settlement resulting in a payment in excess of £1M being made to the sub-contractor.

Project 3

JMP were commissioned by a Contractor to review and resubmit a claim on a historical project that was never resolved during the contract period. JMP successfully obtained a further payment to the Contractor in excess of £300k and obtained financial closure of the account.
